Week 10: How Deep the Father's Love

Week 10 already! We hope you are enjoying walking through our first album as much as we are!

How Deep the Father’s Love happens to be the song for this week’s blog and its perfect for Easter! Though the melody is relatively simple, the lyrics are very thought-provoking and meaningful. Contemplating that God thought we were worth sending His Son to die for is truly amazing. Jesus choosing to die in our place, knowing the sins we would commit in the future, is beyond humbling.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

We hope y’all had a blessed Easter celebrating the risen Savior and knowing His love for you!

How Deep the Father’s love

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
