Week 12: I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Just as I know Who Holds Tomorrow was the perfect song to end our first album ‘Trusting You’ it is also the perfect song to end our first blog series. This beautiful hymn was written by Ira Stanphill in 1950 and the words continue to be a great reminder of who holds the future.

The burdens of today, and thoughts of tomorrow, can be overwhelming. We will all face difficult circumstances in our lifetime. Some stem from choices of our own making while others from events completely out of our control. Regardless God knows the future and is willing to walk with us each step of the way, offering His love, His peace, His forgiveness, His guidance and so much more! He is SO good!!

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. “2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Know Who Holds Tomorrow

I don't know about tomorrow
I just live for day to day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For it's skies may turn to gray

I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Ev'ry step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined

There the sun is always shining
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Well, this blog concludes walking through our first album ‘Trusting You’. We hope you have enjoyed the blogs so far! We’ve been encouraged to hear from some of you and how the Lord has used our music to touch your lives. It is truly humbling to say the least!

Look for our next blog series coming soon, in which we will be walking through our second album, ‘Surrounded’ - A Christmas-n-Praise Album.
